NBA Draft 2024: Atlanta Hawks Win No. 1 Overall Pick

ESPN Insiders Break Down Prospects in Latest Mock Draft

By Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo

The Atlanta Hawks have won the 2024 NBA Draft lottery, securing the No. 1 overall pick for the first time in franchise history. With the draft set for June 26th, ESPN's NBA draft insiders Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo are diving into all aspects of the upcoming event, including the latest mock draft and the long-term future of the Atlanta Hawks.

In their latest mock draft, Givony and Woo project the Hawks to select Scoot Henderson, a dynamic 6'2" point guard out of Kentucky. Henderson is widely considered to be one of the most talented prospects in this year's draft, with an explosive first step, exceptional passing ability, and a knack for creating plays for his teammates.

The Hawks, who finished with a 29-53 record last season, have been looking to rebuild their roster around young talent. The addition of Henderson would give them a franchise cornerstone to build around for the future.

Givony and Woo also discussed the long-term future of the Atlanta Hawks in the wake of the draft lottery win. They believe that the Hawks have a bright future with a young core of players, including Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, and now Scoot Henderson.

"The addition of Henderson gives the Hawks a dynamic trio that has the potential to be one of the most exciting in the NBA," said Givony. "They have all the tools to be a contender in the Eastern Conference for years to come."
